If you’d like to work in media production, a thorough grasp of communications is vital. During the first two years of the degree, all Richmond Communications students take the same core courses.

An inter-disciplinary approach will provide a breadth of communication topics, such as cultural theory, visual culture and creating digital images as well as studying the principles of communications. Small class sizes and students from all over the world make for a supportive and lively learning environment. The faculty invite industry-leading guest lecturers to speak to BA Communications students, providing their perspective on the communications world.

In the third and fourth years of this programme you’ll be specialising in Media Production in all its diversity, with a choice of electives from Adaptations: Literature and Cinema, to Animation and Motion, Web Design to Scriptwriting.

Bring these courses to life with the chance to pursue an internship with a media production company or leading global organisation in London or internationally. It’s an excellent way to extend your career options.

Through our partnership with them, you’ll have membership of The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) – Europe’s largest and most influential PR and communications membership body, which organises training, conferences and events for communications professionals.

This programme is a great combination of theory and practice, giving a real insight into media production, based in London – home to many world-leading media production organisations.

Like all Richmond graduates, you’ll also be able to qualify with two degrees – one for the UK and one for the US.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.5

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
