Students who successfully complete the Medicine UFP can also apply to a number of other Medicine-related degrees such as MPAS (Hons) Physician Associate Studies at UCLan and MPharm and Physiotherapy at RCSI.
Who is this programme designed for?
This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education and met the academic requirements listed, to apply for undergraduate study for a Medicine degree at UCLan, RCSI and SGU.
How long will I study for?
The duration of the programme is one academic year. The year is divided into two terms of seven to eight teaching weeks, a final term of up to 12 weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. You will undertake 22 hours of classroom or lab-based study per week.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by exam for Maths and English, and by a combination of exam and practical work for Biology and Chemistry.
Entry to the Medicine is competitive and whilst students who are predicted to achieve the required grades are guaranteed an interview at UCLan and RCSI, there is no guarantee of acceptance on to the course.
