Overview

In this (Hons) Law and Politics programme at Swansea University, you will gain a comprehensive grounding in the areas covered by a qualifying law degree; Contract Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, EU Law, Law of Tort and Public Law.

Alongside this, you will study key aspects of British and European politics, public policy, political theory and philosophy, electoral issues, democracy, and international peace and conflict.

Throughout your studies, you will develop excellent research and analytical skills and learn to present your ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.

Career

An LLB in Law and Politics opens the door to many opportunities within the legal and criminal justice system, including roles with the police, victim support, and prison and probation services.

The experience and skills you will gain on this course will also prepare you for careers in law, research or policy development, as well as further training to become a solicitor or barrister.

Graduates also pursue careers in education, government and politics, humanitarian organisations, business, media and public relations, and public services, or continue to further postgraduate study.

  • Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate - applicants will be able to meet our requirements from three A-levels or two A-levels and the Skills Challenge Certificate.
  • Extended Project Qualification - applicants predicted grade B or above in EPQ will receive an offer with a one-grade reduction.  e.g., an offer of AAB would become ABB plus EPQ B.
