Overview

The course, designed and taught by industry professionals is unique in offering a three-year intensive training in both screen and stage. 

This course is unique in providing a true vocational qualification. All modules are designed to train you as a working actor and give you the opportunity to learn your trade within a number of work based scenarios. This includes tours of schools, performances at established fringe venues, showcases in Manchester and London and public performances at established local theatres such as Z-Arts, Contact Theatre, Joshua Brooks, The Kings Arms, Hope Mill Theatre. Alongside this you will leave with up to date knowledge of auditions skills taught by leading industry specialists and, most importantly of all, a professionally produced showreel and audio reel.

Programme Structure

Students are assessed through a combination of practical work (80%) and written assessment (20%) - the course culminates in a 5000 word extended essay.

General Requirements

All applicants are auditioned prior to being offered a place on the course. We also require:

  • GCSE English grade C/grade 5 or above
  • 96 UCAS points ideally from a performing arts level 3
  • Applicants must have two A levels at grade C or above and a third qualification or a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/Extended Diploma with Merit, Merit, Merit or a BTEC Level 3 National Certificate/Extended Certificate with Distinction, Distinction in a performing arts related subject area, or an equivalent level 3 qualification with appropriate content. Minimum UCAS tariff points required: 96.
