Overview
At the Accounting (Hons) programme at University of Hull , you use the Business School's industry-standard facilities, like Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory, which you'll use to practise trading. Summer schools are also available with a range of overseas partners.
As well as our three-year course, you can choose one of our four-year options with either a built-in placement year or a year studying abroad. But whichever course you opt for, you’re guaranteed CV-boosting opportunities. Placements, internships, networking, mentoring, international summer schools: they’re all part of what we call Authentic Business Learning, our real-life, hands-on, hard-working approach to teaching.
Like all Hull University Business School courses, ours is accredited by AACSB, which is held by fewer than 5% of business programmes worldwide. And we’re accredited by the main accountancy bodies: ACCA (also as an Accelerate Partner), CIMA (as a University Partner), CIPFA, ICAEW (as a Partner in Learning) AIA, CFA and CPA Australia.
Throughout your course, you have access to industry-standard facilities like our Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory. Here, you practise trading in real time using databases like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters EIKON, Orbis and FAME. Then there’s our newly-enhanced Business Lounge: a great space for you to meet with businesses, entrepreneurs and partners, laying the foundations for your future career.
Your future prospects
As part of our BSc Accounting programme at University of Hull, you get the opportunity to study for a CIMA qualification. You can also register for the ACCA Future Talent Academy: an employability platform full of useful content, activities and advice. And you’ll get access to our Centre for Professional Success, which can help you source relevant placements and employer projects.
Most of our students aim to become chartered accountants, but there are a whole range of employment possibilities open to you. Recent graduates have found work with companies including Citibank, Lloyds Banking Group, Fujitsu, Jaguar Land Rover, Smith & Nephew, the Civil Service, and the ‘Big Four’: Ernst & Young, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG.
