Overview
The Bachelor in Elementary Education, Online program at University of Northern Iowa is designed for students who want to become licensed elementary school teachers. The program combines academic coursework with field experiences in elementary schools to prepare graduates to work in diverse classrooms.
Throughout the program, students will learn about child development, curriculum and instruction, assessment, classroom management, and more. They will also have the opportunity to complete a variety of field experiences, including observation, tutoring, and student teaching, to gain practical experience in elementary school settings.
Graduates of the program will be eligible for certification in Elementary Education in Georgia and many other states. They will be well-prepared to work in public or private elementary schools, or to pursue graduate studies in education or related fields.
Delivered entirely online
Courses are offered entirely online using a combination of Zoom video conferencing and Blackboard, a learning management system that will enhance your learning experience and provide a sense of community with fellow classmates. In addition to the online courses, some optional in-person classes may be available at a central location.
