Overview

The research skills developed within the program will provide an attractive credential for students seeking employment in the public or private sectors. The program will also provide the necessary preparation for entry into a higher degree research program. The multidisciplinary context of the program, involving team-teaching of students and the sharing of coursework and seminar experiences across disciplines will be invaluable to students given the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to researchers and practitioners seeking to understand complex problems in health.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Paramedicine (Honours) at Griffith University program will be eligible to apply for registration as a Paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) subject to meeting any additional requirements that may be stipulated by the Paramedicine Board of Australia. As these requirements may change from time to time, students should contact AHPRA to confirm registration requirements.

Graduates will also be eligible to become a member of the Australasian College of Paramedicine and/or the Australasian College of Paramedic Practitioners.

successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Paramedicine (1533) or an equivalent qualification from another university;
a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree.

The Program Director will take the following into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic;
the resources available to support the candidature including availability of appropriate supervision;
the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
