Profile of the Programme:

Other educational aims of the Marketing programme at University of Nicosia are the following:

  • To enhance participation, guidance, support learning and teaching policies which fulfill the needs of a diverse student community at high standards of achievement.

  • To provide a conceptual framework of marketing as a management process which will enable students to appreciate the roles and relationships of the more specialist courses.
  • To enable students to understand particular areas of contemporary concern in marketing, including marketing and corporate social responsibility, communications, e-commerce, international aspects, the marketing of services, relationship and internal marketing, and the links between marketing and consumer behaviour.
  • To equip students with the skills, knowledge and personal competencies which would enable them to take marketing positions and to be able to contribute to the work of the organization.
  • To enable students to study areas of marketing within a flexible framework.

The programme has both an academic and a market orientation. It focuses on studying and analyzing the latest trends and developments in the marketing academia but at the same time it reflects the needs and requirements of the local industry.

Career Prospects:

Marketing is a field which is characterized by continuous changes and challenges. It is among the most rapidly growing areas of business and not-for-profit organizations, both nationally and internationally. Due to the highly competitive nature of the field and its rapidly evolving ‘character’ there is a requirement for competent graduates.

Career opportunities at graduate level range from: customer relations management, advertising, product and brand management, business development, public relations, sales, market research, marketing planning, and distribution. Graduates can find a job in a variety of sectors such as the: financial services sector, professional services (accounting, insurance, legal, etc), manufacturing sector, non-profit organizations, tertiary education, medical sector, and in the retailing sector.

Access to Further Studies:

Upon graduation, students have direct access to further studies, i.e. admission to a Master’s programme without the need to take any admission examinations or further examinations, or taking any foundation courses in order to be admitted.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).   • Minimum required score:

Academic Requirements

The general admission requirement for entry to an undergraduate programme of study is a High School Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification. Some programmes may have additional requirements in which case they are specified separately under the relevant programme details.

Regular Academic Admission

Regular admission to academic programmes requires a High School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent with an average grade of ‘C’. ‘A’ levels are considered to be a form of equivalent qualification. (Depending on the nature of the ‘A’ levels obtained and the programme for which the student applies, credits within the programme may be awarded up to a maximum of 12 credits).

In addition to a strong academic record, we take into account the student’s extracurricular involvement, leadership skills, and other relevant background information.

English Language Proficiency

English is the language of instruction at the University of Nicosia. All students are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) before registering for classes. The EPT may show that some students will need to register for non-credit English classes before being able to register for their academic programme of study.

Students with the following English qualifications will register directly for their academic programme of study:

  • Computer-based TOEFL: 183 and above
  • Internet-based TOEFL: 65 and above
  • IELTS: 5.5 and above
