is primarily concerned with the design, construction and maintenance of works, such as buildings, bridges, harbours, canals, railways, airports, dams, power projects, highways, water supply systems and sewage treatment works.Careers
Civil engineers are usually employed with organisations, which plan, design and construct the facilities mentioned above, which comprise the essential physical infrastructure for any nation. They also engage in research and development, oriented towards the development of capabilities in all of these fields, and in such special areas as the treatment and the most advantageous use of water resources and engineering materials.
