Choose from one of four subfields to specialize in:
- American Politics: Explore the institutions, issues and political dynamics that are fundamental to the U.S. political system. This subfield of political science is a great choice if you’re interested in a career in government or public service.
- Comparative Politics: Get an in-depth look at the key political dynamics in global regions such as the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
- International Relations: From security issues and climate change to globalization and human rights, the International Relations subfield explores the complex politics between countries and international institutions.
- Law and Theory: If you’re interested in getting into law school and a career in law, choose the Law and Theory subfield to gain an in-depth exploration of American Constitutional law, civil liberties and civil rights and courtroom law.
Program Learning Outcomes
The graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at the University of Central Missouri will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:
