Highlights
The Biology - Science of the Environment Concentration degree at University of Illinois Springfield includes a broad curriculum with biology courses and integral supporting disciplines; that also allows flexibility for students and their advisors to construct a degree that prepares the student for a variety of fields of interest in the biological sciences. The curriculum is delivered by faculty with diverse interests, providing opportunities to participate in research in many areas including molecular, cellular, organismal and ecological fields of study.
The purpose of the Science of the Environment concentration is to prepare science majors for the study of our natural environment and how to solve the relevant problems facing it. Students are required to complete 19-20 hours of course work (research included) to fulfill the requirements for the Science in the Environment concentration.
