Overview

In this Business Information Systems and Web Communication (Double Major) from Murdoch University, you will learn how information is generated, communicated, stored and applied to a range of business activities. You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to apply technical solutions to business problems, in addition to an understanding of information systems design, management and development.

You will also develop project management, research and oral and written communication skills, ensuring you are ready to enter the job market.

In the final year of your programme, you will take part in an IT Professional Practice Project unit. This will include working in a team with other students and consulting with real clients to recommend, develop and implement new technologies to solve business problems.

Students have the option to enrol in either single or double majors.

General requirements

Applicants with a Polytechnic Diploma may be exempted from up to 12 units and can gain entry to Year 2 of the programme. Applicants with a Murdoch University-recognised Kaplan Diploma or a private Diploma may be exempted from up to 8 units and can also gain entry to Year 2 of the programme. The programme can be completed in 16 months instead of 28 months and applicants have the option to enrol for either Single or Double Majors.

The Bachelor’s Degree programme accepts a wide range of qualifications with advanced standing.

These include:

Private Diploma, Advanced Diploma, ACCA or other equivalent qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
