Overview
Court Transcription from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills to produce accurate transcripts by applying rules of grammar and punctuation to the spoken word of pre-recorded proceedings using machine shorthand and computer-aided transcription software. In addition to court transcript production, graduates may be hired as scopists and proofreaders to aid in court transcript production.
Careers
Graduates of the Court Transcription program are in high demand, leading to an impressive placement rate. The majority of work for graduates comes from our current court and legal system, government, meetings and events, audio calls and various forms of digital media. They may also find employment editing and proofreading transcripts for court reporters and court reporting firms using industry software.
