If you just missed out on university entry or qualifying for the GFC, we have you covered. Our Global Freshman Direct (GFD) program offers you the Developing Academic and Numeracy Skills for University Study (DANSUS) study module, which works to bridge the gap in just three months of study time if you meet the entry requirements. This means that after 12 months of study, GFD + GFC will have you back on track and ready to enter second year at your member university of choice.

Sometimes life doesn’t quite go to plan. If your school results weren’t quite where you thought they’d be, Global Freshman Direct is the solution.  Give yourself a second chance to study at one of our growing list of member universities. 

What is Global Freshman Direct? It is the Developing Academic and Numeracy Skills for University (DANSUS) module.

DANSUS is a 12-week online course that offers you a chance to get back in the game. Offered in your time zone, choose an intake start date to plan your GFC start (i.e. once you have successfully completed the DANSUS module). As well as offering you the chance to connect and work with students also completing the DANSUS program.  With regular peer reviews, opportunities for feedback, and a dedicated tutor DANSUS gives you skills and confidence to take on the next stage of your academic journey.

Once you’ve graduated from DANSUS you can enter the Global Freshman Year program and complete both within 12 months if you are studying full-time. Putting you on track to begin second year university in one of the  growing number of member xx universities we’ve partnered with across the key destination countries.

Programme Structure

DANSUS equips you with the skills and tools to study at a university level including


·       Digital literacy

·       Time management

·       Effective note taking skills

·       Information literacy

·       Media literacy

·       ICT literacy

·       Communication and collaboration skills

·       Academic level reading, writing and research skills

·       Academic referencing skills

·       Numeracy skills including those required for level 4 statistical analysis 

·       Presentation skills including the construction and use of spreadsheets and graphs
