Overview
The Business (Property) (Pathway to Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade)) program from University of South Australia is the longest-running degree of its type in Australia, and the only one of its kind in South Australia. You will learn about property investment, development, valuation, management, agency and property research.
As a property professional you will gather and analyse information to help you make informed decisions and offer practical advice about the use and management of property.
In your postgraduate studies, you will be equipped with the skills to manage critical issues facing global trade, and international business and finance.
This degree will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the interconnections between institutions and global financial markets, as well as the implications of changing regulation and policy.
What you'll learn
The degree starts with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers.
In your specialisation you will focus on property valuation, development and investment. Specific areas include building evaluation, planning and land use, property law and economics, property practice, investment and development, and entrepreneurship.
In your postgraduate studies, you will study core courses in business and global investment and trade and select from specialised courses such as Behavioural Finance, International Business: Strategy and Ethics, and Applied Research in Finance.

- Trade finance specialist: developing and reviewing trade finance guidelines and policies; identifying risk and developing models to safeguard against losses
- Economic adviser: understanding and interpreting public policy issues; undertaking research, analysing data and identifying trends and wider consumer impacts
- Credit analyst: managing commercial banking portfolios including the processing and evaluating credit/loan applications, analysing and interpreting financial information and undertaking risk analyses through the development of statistical models
- Commercial property analyst: researching market trends and statistics to forecast the industry future; determining the best use of finances; performing due diligence research in order to broker real estate deals; working with sellers and buyers
- Land and property valuer: providing advice on financing and valuation; analysing investments; managing portfolios; calculating values by considering market demand, future trends and other factors; valuing office, retail, industrial and residential properties for sale and purchase, bank lending and preparation of financial statements

General requirements
- Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent
- AND
- Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or
- Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or
- Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points
- Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any
- remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.

- Complete or partly complete a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education
