Overview
There are many reasons we encourage geography, environment and population graduates to apply for an honours year. By taking the Environmental Policy and Management (Honours) degree from University of Adelaide, you might want to build a necessary foundation for postgraduate research at masters and doctorate levels. You could be seeking answers to environmental questions no one else has asked. Perhaps you’re pursuing advanced communication skills and subject knowledge to gain a competitive edge in the job market.
Our prerequisite for honours study is at least a credit standard in a specified major. Applications are called for by Departments/Disciplines in October and November each year.
What will you do?
- Attend regular classes for advanced coursework.
- Investigate a chosen topic related to population, migration, urbanisation, climate change and adaptation, transport, ageing, health, housing demand and supply, permaculture, coastal/environmental management, biological thresholds, ecosystem services, risk assessment or tourism.
- Partner with an academic mentor who’ll support and encourage your intellectual development.
- Build marketable skills in research design, data analysis, project management, laboratory etiquette and ethics.
- Present your work in the form of a dissertation.
