    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

General Requirements

  • 72 points to include 2 A levels or equivalent, with 32 points in a pure Science subject. All shortlisted applicants are subject to interview. 
  • All offers are subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and Occupational Health clearance. This includes screening to exclude infectivity with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. For A levels which include a separate science practical component, a pass is desirable and may strengthen an application.
  • 4 GCSEs at grade C or above to include English, Mathematics and Science/4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English, Mathematics and Science.
