Overview

Your first year will provide a solid foundation of general subjects underpinning sports therapy and sport and exercise science, including; anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, research and the application of sports principles. In-depth studies of sports injuries, manual therapy techniques, applied sports biomechanics, and physiology are the focus of the second year of the programme. By the third year, you'll see that emphasis is placed on advanced and applied aspects of treating and managing sports injuries. Students will be using facilities provided within the University’s Science Centre, which includes state-of-the-art physiology laboratories, therapy treatment rooms, and an expansive sports hall.

As well as developing your understanding of the management of sports injuries, you’ll also gain clinical competence thanks to a combination of practical classes and work-based learning. You can gain experience in our on-site clinic, which offers treatment to members of the public, as well as through placements with our extensive network of industry contacts.

You’ll also find this network useful in progressing your career after graduation. We have strong links with a number of renowned sporting organisations and professional bodies both within London and around the world.
