Pre-Medical Diploma

Overview

Warnborough College offers a Pre-Medical Diploma which can act as an entry pre-requisite to some medical universities. This represents an opportunity for a motivated individual in any part of the world to follow a career in medicine.

Students do not need to come to the UK to take the course – it can be studied from your home. Once you have graduated with the Diploma and applied to study at a medical school, you will need to commit yourself to full-time campus-based study.

The Pre-Medical Diploma is designed to meet the high standards and requirements demanded for medical school. Students receive tutor and moral support throughout the programme. Complete 8 required modules to acquire a solid background for medical studies.

Outcomes

Once you successfully complete the Pre-Medical Diploma from Warnborough College, you can apply to study at various WHO-recognised universities in the Caribbean or Europe. Each university has its own entrance requirements and will consider applicants on a case-by-case basis.  Most medical programmes are taught in English, but some may not be. You should check that the university at which you wish to study offers the programme in a language you are comfortable with, and that they offer opportunities for medical internship.

Most medical universities offer high quality instruction, good clinical rotations, and a great future for graduates.

Graduates who wish to practise in the United Kingdom must sit for the Professional Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) examination, after which they are allowed to practise with limited registration for 5 years (with full approval by the UK General Medical Council (GMC)). Students who wish to practise in the United States of America will need to undertake similar licensing requirements by sitting for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (MLE).
