The Cyber Security Bachelor’s programme offer students a comprehensive skill set enabling them to protect any organisation’s cyber assets. Students gain knowledge of the most sophisticated encryption methods and threat detection techniques to prevent, detect, counter, and recover data as well as organisational training in access control, evidence collection, and business continuity planning.

Overview

Year 1

In the first year, students obtain the foundational theoretical knowledge they need to become cybersecurity professionals. The programme builds the mathematical foundation upon which students will develop understanding of programming, computer networks and enterprise information systems during following years.

Year 2

In the second year, students complete courses in programming, scripting, machine learning, databases, and continue to study security of operating systems and networks. The second year also offers fundamental courses in cryptography and principles of secure programming. Most courses require practical coursework and a course project enabling students to get a feel for the challenges and approaches used in this field.

Year 3

During the third year, students will focus on a variety of cybersecurity topics including advanced network management, operating system security, policy analysis and implementation, vulnerability analysis, and legal environment. The courses are taught by researchers and professionals who practice the material they teach either academically or professionally. The goal of the final year is to expose students to a range of real-world security challenges and mitigation strategies and to ensure a seamless transition into professional roles.

The number of hours students will spend in class every day. The rest of the time is theirs to study, work on projects, or interact with their peers and teachers. Students have the freedom and flexibility to adapt their time to their needs.

The lifespan of each Module or class. Students will take one class at a time for three weeks, allowing them to focus intensively on the subject matter. This allows for every student to get the most out of every class.

The amount of contact hours students get with their teachers each module. Our teachers make commitments to come and teach a class for three weeks and make themselves fully available to help their students understand classwork, work through projects, or help students with their Capstone Projects for graduation.

General requirements

  • Our admission process is a holistic review of each student’s preparedness level for higher studies and potential for a successful career.
  • While we are highly selective we do not base the decision on the review of the grades and transcripts alone. We believe that grades and standardised test results are sometimes not fully indicative of a student’s ability to work on a project and to innovate. We consider the overall certificates, transcript, motivation and recommendation letters as well as awards, achievements and extracurricular activities. One of the crucial parts of the student’s application is the project proposal.
  • All our technical degree programmes (Computer Science, Data Science and Cyber Security) require a strong foundational knowledge of mathematics. If your Maths level is not sufficient, you may first join an intensive, one year preparatory Math as a Second Language (MSL) course.

These scholarships recognise a student’s demonstration of extraordinary academic achievement or leadership potential. All applicants who apply are eligible to receive a merit-based scholarship.

Work-study scholarships

We have partnered with industry leaders to offer work-study scholarships. Recipients receive financial support to complete their degree while applying their skills to the real-world challenges of the company sponsoring them.

Co-Creator scholarships:

These are awarded to students whose previous experience and current skills allow them to work alongside Harbour.Space staff members on university projects. Recipients receive financial support and gain hands-on work experience.
