Overview

Throughout your Business Accounting (Hons) studies at Middlesex University Manchester Branch you will build your knowledge and understanding of the conceptual and practical aspects of accounting, providing a foundation for further study or professional development depending on your chosen career path. 

In your first year, you will study 6 compulsory modules which are designed to give a solid grounding in the subject area of accounting and prepare you for a more detailed exploration of the subject in your second year. 

In the second and final year, you will be required to devote more time to ethics, governance and controversial accounting principles. You will study accounting rules and apply accounting skills. There is more emphasis on discussion, critical evaluation, reflection and anticipation of likely future developments in accounting. 

Teaching and assessment

You will be actively involved in a range of learning, teaching and assessment approaches as part of BSc (Hons) Business Accounting. Such active approaches aim to put you in the centre of your learning so you are involved and engaged in all aspects of your assessment and learning. 

Your programme will require your active participation in learning activities and engagement with your fellow students both individually and collaboratively, working and learning with other students. Learning activities may also occur both within and outside the classroom.
