
Dentistry 5-year DMD program
5-year DMD program provided by the Division of Dentistry at the Medical University of Lodz is designed for high school/secondary school graduates. It is a full time study program based on requirements which are obligatory for the Polish medical higher education institutions and is adequate to EU standards.
The main goal of the dental studies is to educate well-qualified dental practitioners able to enter the profession of a Doctor of Dental Medicine (lat. Doctor Medicinae Dentium – pol. Lekarz dentysta) with excellent clinical skills, able to conduct scientific research, provide professional dental health care based on human approach, and teach dental students.
The beginnings of dental studies in Lodz date back to 1945, when Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy were established within the University of Lodz. The Institute of Dentistry was founded in 1971 at the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Lodz, with the Departments of:
There is also a Clinic of Maxillofacial Surgery and three Laboratories of Dental Techniques, Dental Radiology, and Film and Photography. Nowadays departments of the Division of Dentistry use numerous locations, with Pomorska St. as the main one, and are organized into three chairs: Chair of Restorative Dentistry, of Pediatric Dentistry and of Conservative Dentistry, Endodontics and Periodontology.
In 2012 a top modern (one of the best in Europe) Clinical and Teaching Centre was opened at Pomorska St. with new classrooms and lecture halls, complete with computer-compatible projectors and PA systems, with clinical rooms equipped with the most modern dental units and phantom rooms with working stations for 20 students each.

Admission Requirements
High school diploma or a secondary school leaving certificate qualifying for admission to a university or medical school in a home country
Extended level of knowledge in 2 of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics – documented by the above mentioned school leaving certificates/diplomas. The grades required should be above the average. The above knowledge is to be verified during the Skype entrance exam.
English competency written and spoken confirmed by the respective certificates as CAE, CPE, TOEFL PBT (min. 500 points), IELTS (min. 6.0 points) if the secondary education was not conducted in English.
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
