Overview

As the family plays a key role in a child’s development, students will explore the areas of parenting and family dynamics. In addition, the powerful impact of the educational system is addressed. During the required senior course Psychology in the Field, students will have the opportunity to explore and network with experts in the field.

Child Psychology majors study all aspects of child development — physical, intellectual, emotional, social and moral — as well as other areas that play a key role in development, including parenting, family dynamics and the education system.

The program is designed for those interested in working with children of all ages, from infants to adolescents. While studying child psychology, you will:
