
The (Hons) History and Welsh (a Pathway for Second Language Students) programme at Swansea University explores medieval, early modern and modern history through subjects including women’s history and gender, cultural history and the history of religion, health and medicine.
You will also learn about Welsh in the workplace, language past and present, working in two languages and contemporary literature.
In the first year of the course, complete beginners in the Welsh language will follow modules which aim to provide a sound grounding in Welsh grammar, the spoken word and culture.
Students on this course typically develop excellent oral and writing skills and you will also learn to develop your ideas in a wide range of formats, along with strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
