Overview

You will study diversity, the uniqueness of each child and how Early Childhood professionals can support children in difficult situations such as those suffering from trauma and in social crisis. 

ECS currently has an increasingly significant high profile internationally at government level and within international organisations, where children’s rights, health, well-being and social problems have attracted much attention due to recent global movements and the refugee crisis. 

The (Hons) Early Childhood Studies course at Swansea University aims to provide specific education and training for those wanting to work with infants, toddlers and young children in a professional capacity.

General Requirements

  • Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate - applicants will be able to meet our requirements from three A-levels or two A-levels and the Skills Challenge Certificate.
  • Extended Project Qualification - applicants predicted grade B or above in EPQ will receive an offer with a one-grade reduction.  e.g., an offer of AAB would become ABB plus EPQ B.
