
Students complete the first two years or approximately 62 to 65 credit hours of a bachelor’s degree at Moraine Valley and then transfer to a 4-year institution to continue their studies in the specific areas of their major.
The Associate in Arts (AA) program from Moraine Valley is for students who plan to major in disciplines such as art, business, criminal justice, education, English, foreign language, geography, history, law, music, philosophy, physical education, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, speech and theater.

To graduate from Moraine Valley Community College with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Fine Arts degree students must complete 38 credit hours in General Education Core Curriculum that includes Communication 9 cr. hrs., Mathematics 3 cr. hrs., Physical and Life Sciences 8 cr. hrs., Humanities and Fine Arts 9 cr. hrs., Social/Behavioral Sciences 9 cr. hrs., Additional Degree Requirements, 3 cr. hrs., Baccalaureate Major/Minor and Elective Courses 21 cr. hrs.
