Programme Structure

To graduate from Moraine Valley Community College with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Fine Arts degree students must complete 38 credit hours in General Education Core Curriculum that includes Communication 9 cr. hrs., Mathematics 3 cr. hrs., Physical and Life Sciences 8 cr. hrs., Humanities and Fine Arts 9 cr. hrs., Social/Behavioral Sciences 9 cr. hrs., Additional Degree Requirements, 3 cr. hrs., Baccalaureate Major/Minor and Elective Courses 21 cr. hrs.

English Language Requirements

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

General Requirements

  • No English proficiency required for admission. Students will be tested in English upon arrival and placed in our Intensive English Language Program if needed. Students who have a TOEFL scores of 525 paper based, 197 computer based, or 71 internet based, or above and present official TOEFL transcripts; or an IELTS of 5.5 or above, you will be eligible to waive the placement test and register in regular academic college classes from their program of study.
