This Public Governance programme from Kaunas University of Technology is for those who aspire to become strong public governance specialists. It is also for those who want to learn public governance theories and practices, the values, ethics and principles of civil society, its main social research methods, and who want to apply them in the management activities of the public sector. 

Since 2019 the programme offers a dual degree with the University of Central Florida (UCF) that is located in Orlando, USA.

The programme is focused on key issues of public administration and non-profit management in a globalising world. It allows students to acquire a thorough understanding of how public policies affect societal outcomes and the lives of citizens in evolving political and social contexts.  

At the end of the programme, students will be able to develop well-designed policies and systemic reforms that can enhance the effectiveness and legitimacy of national and transnational public policies and administrative systems. 

The programme provides students with a unique possibility to achieve professional knowledge and practical skills in public administration and non-profit management in both Europe and North America.

Graduates from this study programme will have the knowledge, values, global awareness and experience necessary to be a successful leader in public and non-profit sectors.

Student’s skills

  • Able to establish public management priorities, formulate objectives and tasks, implement them and assess public programmes and projects.
  • Able to perform analysis of public management processes, identify and distinguish results and long-term consequences of public policy, and assess significant alternatives according to the set priorities of public policy.
  • Able to identify practical problems of public management and prepare recommendations for their ethical solutions.
  • Able to individually select management measures used in public administration practice and apply various analytical instruments.
