Overview

This Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts and Culture (Honours) from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is the first undergraduate programme in Hong Kong to offer arts management and cultural studies components to complement discipline-based training in the creative arts.

It aims to develop community-based artists, who are able to work across a range of established art forms and contribute to the promotion and development of the arts and arts education in the local, regional, and international cultural and creative industries.

Career Prospects/Professional Qualifications

Due to the rapid growth of the cultural and creative industries in Asia and increased regional competition, there is great demand for cultural expertise who are creative, multi-skilled, flexible, resourceful, ethical and competent to work in fields requiring multi-tasking beyond their major area of studies.

Thus, qualified graduates with interdisciplinary training, knowledge in cross-arts issues and management as well as cultural literacy are in high demand.

Graduates will be prepared for a range of possible employment in the cultural and creative industries, the commercial sector, the media and governmental organisations.

Graduates may also choose to pursue a teaching career by completing an additional year of professional teacher training or to undertake further studies locally or overseas.

The recent graduates have been working at various private and public organisations, such as 100 Most, Baron School of Music, Chung Ying Theatre Company, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Lumenvisum, The Mills Gallery, Ming Pao Daily News, Moon Gallery, Microsoft, The Pottery Workshop at Jingdezhen, Theatre Ronin, The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, etc.
