The International and Diplomatic Studies Bachelor offered by University of Economics, Prague is designed so that students acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the current international practice. The study of International Relations is connected with extensive education in Economics and complemented by the knowledge of Law, Statistics and Mathematics. The education lays special emphasis on the interconnection of knowledge in political, economic, international law, security, cultural and other areas.

Graduates acquire knowledge of an interdisciplinary nature as required by experts in current international practice. The graduates can work as: agents of the foreign service, assistants of international departments in the field of state administration, junior managers in European and international political and economic institutions and organizations, managers of international projects in NGOs, UN agencies, other international governments and NGOs at lower and junior management levels, and also employees in mass media.

This programme may require students to demonstrate proficiency in English.

General Requirements

Admission exam (long-distance via e-mail) Written part: 

  • an essay (in English, on a given topic, 1,200 words) verifies the ability to deal with an essay topic and the knowledge of English in writing; 
  • Max. 150 points (min. 75 points). 
Aptitude for study: 
  • the assessment of aptitude for study is based on the provided motivation letter; 
  • Max. 50 points (min. 25 points)
English language skills: 
  • Only those candidates who receive at least of points from the essay and at least 50% of points from the letter of motivation will be invited to the in-person or via Skype interview. 
  • Knowledge of spoken English is assessed by a Skype or an in- person interview. 
  • Max. 50 points (min. 25 points).
