Overview

The courses in this Environmental Technician  program at Centennial College cover the three foundational disciplines of biology, chemistry and civil engineering, and teach you to understand and manage complex environmental problems. The program includes hands-on training as you learn to use the tools and equipment needed in water and soil quality analysis, ecological field sampling, analytical chemistry, and surveying.

A unique combination of technical skills will greatly increase your career options once you graduate from this applied science program, which is the recipient of the President's Academic Program Recognition Award for Quality of the Learning Experience.

Drinking Water Operators 

Students who successfully complete the entry-level course for drinking water operators will have met the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment's entry-level course for drinking water operators. This course is delivered by Centennial College in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment and the Walkerton Clean Water Centre.

Certification

Graduates of the Environmental Technician program can write the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Operator in Training (OIT) and Water Quality Analyst (WQA) exams. Graduates can apply to register with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologist (OACETT).

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Funding

Centennial College is offering two (2) scholarships to international students. One scholarship is awarded to an international student based on merit; the other to an international transfer student from China based on academic performance. Both scholarships are offered to eligible students who have successfully completed two consecutive semesters.
