This Human Biology with Pre-Med course offered at Staffordshire University is ideal if you are interested in a UK-delivered quality educational programme, focusing on the fascinating areas of human structure and function; human health, disease and wellbeing and underpinned by solid foundations in physiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, math and statistics, physics. This course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the human body drawing upon fundamental principles of bioscience such as genetics, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, as well as applied biomedical disciplines such as genomic and regenerative medicine.

Appealing to international students with a broad scientific interest in Human Biology, our course will introduce the essentials of cellular, organ, tissue and systems biology, as well as covering areas such as molecular biology, genetics and genomics, biochemistry, immunology and pharmacology, endocrinology and reproductive biology and neurobiology and neuropharmacology. Based in our modern, purpose-built Science Centre, you’ll follow a core programme of practical exercises and workshops, supplemented with lecture material and a tutorial programme.

On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BSc (Hons) Human Biology with Pre-Med.


Upon graduation you may consider applying for entry to Medical Colleges.  The core competencies required for entry to USA Medical Colleges are embedded as part of the developmental tutorial programme within the core modules of the course. You may consider taking the Medical Colleges Admissions Test (MCAT©) and apply to USA Medical Schools via the American Medical Colleges Admissions Service (AMCAS). Additional support for Medical College Admissions is offered via the short course MCAT pre-med summer school (additional fee).

Graduates from biological sciences also move into careers such as research and development across the public and private sectors. Typically, graduates find work in NHS or private medical laboratories or go on to study further at a doctorate level.   That’s not all; our qualifications lend themselves to future careers in various scientific, academic and management. Recent graduates have secured employment with the Paterson Cancer Research Laboratories and Cobra Biologics.
