Overview

It is available to School of Journalism juniors with a 3.0 accumulative GPA in all work. The Journalism Carr Van Anda program at Ohio University includes the journalism core classes (4 classes) plus an approved selection of courses in journalism, media arts and studies or visual communication to equal 36 hours. Of the non-core class hours, a minimum of 12 hours must be in journalism. In addition, a student in this program must meet all journalism general liberal arts and specialization requirements and all Ohio University general education requirements. A student completing the Carr Van Anda program receives the Bachelor of Science in Journalism (BSJ), the same as journalism students in the news and information or strategic communication tracks.
