The Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management programme offered by the Royal Roads University is a fully integrated undergraduate degree completion program. It comprises years three and four of an undergraduate degree and is delivered as a 24-month blended study program.

About

Students work through a defined program of study that fosters the kinds of critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills that the work world and society demands. The Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management programme offered by the Royal Roads University is focused on enabling students to become successful value creators and difference makers, be it in a start-up, aspiring venture, or established organization. Underlying this focus is a commitment to advancing responsible, innovative, and sustainable business practices.

The BCom is a fast-paced and intensive program that demands active contribution and sustained effort throughout, not unlike life in business. While the program is structured and supported to enable learners to be successful, learners must be prepared to invest the time and energy it takes to meet the program learning outcomes. The program design encourages learners to be purposeful and proactive in setting and managing priorities and defining and pursuing what matters most to them. Assuming responsibility and accountability for one's education is key. Like so many things in life, you get out what you put in.

The BCom blended program is offered primarily through online study combined with three mandatory on-site residencies: a two-week residency at the start, an eight-day residency at the program mid-point, and a final one-week residency during the Capstone phase of the program. The blended model provides learners with the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial management knowledge while advancing their careers, seeding new ideas and ventures, or pivoting their profession.

Like the on-campus BCom program, the blended BCom program begins online with a one-week orientation, (Bridge to BCom), followed by the first two weeks of Foundational Business Skills (FBS), which subsequently is concluded during the first residency. The FBS course is designed to equip learners with the critical thinking, problem solving, communications, and team-work skills that will set them up for success throughout the program and beyond. The first residency is also designed to enable students to re-immerse themselves in the world of higher learning, bond as a cohort, and create relationships that will be formative as their studies move back online.
