About this Degree
Students learn to identify hazards, measure exposure to hazards, evaluate hazards, and recommend procedures to reduce risks resulting from these exposures. In addition, students may take courses towards meeting eligibility requirements for the Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) exam.
The bachelor of science degree program in Public Health (Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Concentration) at California State University Fullerton provides graduates with an understanding of a wide range of health-related topics including: core functions and disciplines of public health, diseases and their causes, distributions of diseases, risk factors and prevention, behavior-change theory and application, health promotion program design, and research and evaluation. First-year students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- be a high school graduate or equivalent;
- complete the 15-unit comprehensive “A-G” pattern with a grade of C- or better by high school graduation; and
- earn a qualifying “A-G” grade point average (GPA)
- Prepare application materials such as transcripts, test scores (N/A for fall 21 and fall 22), current and planned courses, annual household income, citizenship status and social security number (if available).
