
Overview
The Tourism and Hospitality Management program of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean has a strong business related base of core modules, with specialised modules in the upper level of the programme, that are focused on the critical needs of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry in the Caribbean.
Course Objectives
The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean’s (UCC) Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management (upper level) builds on the foundation laid in the Associate Degree. The Tourism and Hospitality Management program of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean will enable graduates to earn promotions or credits that may lead to employment opportunities in the business community. Graduates will also be able to matriculate to a Master’s Degree programme offered through UCC or other tertiary institutions.
The programme aims to
- Improve the level of professionalism in the tourism and hospitality industry;
- Educate and train productive and employable people who meet regional and international occupational standards and can take their place in the global community.
- Provide consistent delivery of core content so that employers’ expectations of graduates of UCC Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management are realized.
- Ensure transferability and articulation with other colleges and universities regionally and internationally.

- High school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Equivalency / Proficiency (with minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 from high school)
- Passes in 5 GCE O Level passes at A, B or C including Mathematics and English or International Baccalaureate (IB) or other international qualification deemed equivalent (subject to UCC approval) - Regional (Caribbean) Applicants Only
- One electronic passport size photo
- Copy of passport information page
- Financial documentation demonstrating that the student can support him/herself during his/her stay in Jamaica (to be sent along with completed UCC Affidavit of Support Form)
- Official Transcripts of all secondary school (and other universities) coursework and grades
- Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate English Language proficiency
