About

The Fashion (Hons) programme from University of Derby benefits from relationships with the Textile Design and Commercial Photography Programmes. You'll have the opportunity to exhibit your final collection at the graduate fashion show at Derby Theatre, plus exhibiting your portfolios at the annual Graduate Fashion Week in London. Our students' award winning work is showcased regularly at The Clothes Show. Students Sarah Woodward was Midlands Emerging Designer winner 2015, Nicole Wells won St Andrews Young Designer 2015. We successfully collaborate with industry to enhance the curriculum with cutting edge learning environments.

During the first semester of your first year you'll be taught alongside the BA (Hons) Textile Design students where you will gain valuable skills such as knit and print, pattern cutting and manufacture. Contextual Studies and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) will continue through to the final year giving you a positive advantage within the fashion and textiles industries. This integration of skills and knowledge has produced innovative and creative textile and fashion designers.

In addition, you will study at our Chandos Pole Street building, a purpose built learning environment where you will have access to new specialist Fashion and Textiles facilities. These include light and airy studio spaces as well as industry-standard equipment and design facilities.
