Overview

The mission of the Spanish section of the Department of Languages & Literatures is:

  • To encourage and foster interest in the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • To provide engaging, expert instruction in the areas of Spanish language, including Professional Spanish, as well as in-depth study of the literatures and civilizations of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • To offer opportunities for further immersion and exploration through faculty-led travel study courses, course-embedded service learning opportunities, independent studies, internships, and faculty-supported student organizations.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

Nonresident students are automatically eligible for scholarships of $2,000 to $5,000 per year, based on ACT/SAT scores, high school course rigor, class rank and grade point average, and the college application statement. Students will be notified at point of admission regarding these merit-based awards.
