General Requirements

Candidates who have completed their school career entirely or partially in other countries must submit the following documents in addition to the application form:

  • A notarised translation of the highest school diploma into German (or English as an exception) with specification of the course subjects. As a rule, this diploma authorises admission to a university in the country of origin. The Rectors’ Conference of Swiss Universities has put together precise admission rules for individual countries.
  • The employer’s confirmation of a minimum one-year internship in the subject area of the selected study programme.
  • A copy of a recognized German certificate at level C1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, or an equivalent document. In preparation for the C1 certificate, the ZHAW offers German courses.
  • An academic and professional CV.
