 Environmental Science (Hons) from Institute of Technology Sligo modules focus on environmental systems and the interaction of humans, industry and development on the environment. 

Students will become competent in the areas of water and wastewater treatment, waste management, habitat and species management, environmental agricultural systems, environmental assessment, chemical toxicology, environmental microbiology and molecular biology. All modules have a practical emphasis preparing the student for the workplace and their work placement, which takes place at the end of this year.

General Requirements

  • The requirement for entry to one of our Level 8 programmes is a minimum of 4 grade O6 and 2 Grade H5. This must include English or Irish and Mathematics.
  • We accept a H7 and above in Higher Level Mathematics, and also a B2 or higher in Foundation mathematics, as meeting the mathematics entry requirements.
  • We require a minimum of 160 points for all Level 8 programmes.
