Overview

Mechanical engineers use their skills and knowledge in maths and science to design and manufacture new technology that functions efficiently and reliably at an optimised cost. 

Almost all products have a requirement of a mechanical engineer: from mobile phones, to medical devices to a formula 1 racing cars. Mechanical engineers are also developing the next generation of environmentally friendly materials and devices for renewable energy sources.

International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • 36 points overall, including 6,6,6 at Higher Level, including Mathematics and Physics (preferred), Biology or Chemistry.
Graduate
  • A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree, provided any subject requirement is also met.
Access/Foundation Course
  • Not considered. Applicants should apply for the BEng Mechanical Engineering degree.
