Overview
Mathematics, with its long and storied history, has found applications that span centuries. However, the recent surge in Data Science over the past two decades has dramatically transformed these applications and even some aspects of mathematics itself.
The interdisciplinary nature of this program is beneficial in that it provides students with mathematical techniques for problem formulation and analysis, as well as practical experience in modeling real-world issues and employing algorithmic, data-driven solutions for these problems. The program's emphasis on a solid mathematical base not only furnishes students with advanced analytical and problem-modeling capabilities but also opens up a plethora of mathematical inquiries.
