Overview

Food science and public health nutrition are fascinating subjects which you’ll explore in depth. Your all-round knowledge and understanding will encompass human nutrition, public health and lifestyle, food science, perspectives of clinical nutrition, and food policy and commercial responses. From this, you'll build on your underpinning scientific knowledge of anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, cellular and molecular medicine. Meanwhile, you'll also develop practical laboratory and clinical skills, and become confident in knowing how to initiate and evaluate research programmes.

The programme

When you graduate, you'll have a solid grasp of the factors which influence public health nutrition, from the environment and family, to general culture and the availability of food. Most importantly, you'll have the analytical, scientific and problem-solving skills that are so highly regarded in the food and healthcare sectors - and, indeed, all public and private sector organisations.

Employability is built into this course; you’ll graduate with a professional portfolio, the knowledge, leadership, scientific and communication skills you’ll need to excel at interview.
