Overview
The Behavioral Healthcare - Children's Mental Health prepares students for entry-level positions in agencies that provide a variety of treatment services for individuals with diagnosed mental health, substance use and/or behavioral issues. Other students may be preparing for graduate programs in human services and/or research.
The program provides students with six options for specialization in Adult Community Services, Children’s Mental Health, Applied Behavior Analysis, Addictions and Behavioral Healthcare, Aging and Behavioral Health, and Behavioral Health Research. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practices utilizing a recovery-focused, holistic and strength-based approach to behavioral healthcare.

The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

- Send official SAT or ACT scores to USF. If you are submitting ACT scores, you are required to submit scores for the Writing section, per Florida Board of Governors requirements.
- Request official ACT scores directly from ACT, Inc. Our school code is 0761.
- Send official IELTS, TOEFL or PTEA scores to USF (only required for students from non-English speaking countries). Note: TOEFL/IELTS scores are valid for two years from the original date of examination.
- Send a financial statement that shows funding support based on the estimated cost of attendance for one academic year or two semesters (only required if an F-1 or J-1 visa is required).
