At the same time, however, it contains an application-oriented component consisting of basic training in mathematical modeling, computer science and computer-aided methods, programming internships, a specialist internship and the study of an application subject. The training also prepares for a broad professional practice with heterogeneous requirements as well as for a subsequent master's program.

At the University of Kaiserslautern, In the first year of study, there are mainly compulsory courses on the Mathematics program, which lay the mathematical foundations in analysis and (linear) algebra. Building on this, in the second year of study, you choose from a wide range of elective lectures, each of which introduces mathematics into a subsection of the Pure and the Applied ('Practical'). In the third year of study, you choose a specialization area in which you get more involved. You will also complete the internship and write the bachelor thesis.
