Nyack College’s Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies offers strong foundational preparation for seminary programs and for biblical training in preaching and teaching.

Overview

Biblical and Theological Studies from Nyack College offers advanced courses in biblical study that are taught by world class scholars who have a heart for the ministry of the local Christian church. At Nyack, you’ll be part of a diverse Christian academic community that will help you grow intellectually and spiritually.

Students in majoring in Biblical & Theological studies take one introductory course to the field of biblical studies, one survey course in the Old Testament, and one survey course in the New Testament.  Students also take one course in hermeneutics (the science of biblical interpretation), two courses surveying the whole of systematic theology, one course in the history of theology, and several elective courses in advanced Old Testament and advanced New Testament study.

Careers

As a graduate of this program, students can choose to pursue pastoral church work, hospital or military chaplaincy, or teaching in Christian private schools.
