About

The Management Information Systems program at California University of Pennsylvania combines business fundamentals with specialized courses to give you a professional advantage in an ever-changing business environment.

Overview

The Management Information Systems program at California University of Pennsylvania will help you to build a strong foundation with your business core courses. In addition, you'll choose a discipline for in-depth study: Management information systems is one of seven concentrations that give business students the opportunity to develop focused expertise.

Specialized work in IT management examines such topics as data base management systems and design, systems analysis, and more. The Introduction to Information Systems course covers the role and value of information systems, hardware and software used in information systems, managing information and data resources, decision making, and developing information systems.

In Cal U's business administration program, you also will work on building quantitative, critical thinking and analytical skills. This means you'll graduate not only with a demonstrated competence in your subject area, but also with the ability and tools to apply that knowledge.

Business administration students are also encouraged to have a minor:

  • Some students choose a business discipline other than their concentration.
  • Other popular choices include psychology, communication studies, public relations, statistics, leadership, women's studies, Spanish and Arabic.
  • Students also may choose to complete dual majors or dual degrees with international studies or math.

Graduate Outcomes

Employment of computer and information systems managers is projected to grow 15% through 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations, because an increasing number of firms are expanding their business to include digital platforms.
