Key Features

Geological Engineering encompasses professional engineering application of geology to mineral resources (both metallic and non-metallic) exploration; identification and evaluation of problems associated with surface and underground construction works, site investigation; exploration of construction material sources; development and management of groundwater resources; earthquake hazard assessment; groundwater contamination and environmental impact assessment; and identification and remediation of natural hazards.

Field applications associated with the Departmental Undergraduate Courses are carried out in or out of Ankara City boundaries either as daily trips or as field camps within the semester.

The Geological Engineering program at METU Middle East Technical University is accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, USA).

General requirements

The photograph should be 4.5x6 cm. in size, colored, and taken in the last 6 months to enable the applicant to be clearly recognized.
Candidates with passports need to upload the page of their passports with the identification information/ identification page of their passports, without having to get any approval.
The original high school diploma and its translation (Turkish or English) need to be uploaded.
An Equivalence Letter from the Ministry of Education of Türkiye or from Turkish Embassies which certify that the diploma is equivalent to a Turkish High School Diploma is not required for the application.
Applicants need to submit an official transcript of high school courses and grades sealed and approved by their high-school administration.
The exam result to be used in the application (SAT, GCE, International Baccalaureate, etc.) needs to be uploaded.
