Overview
This Sport Science (Coaching) (Hons) three-year full-time award from Writtle University College provides the theoretical and developmental aspects of sport in conjunction with the practical skills needed for many of the varied careers that exist within the industry.
Combining the acquisition of practical and transferable skills with theoretical understanding, the award will produce graduates capable of applying their scientific knowledge to the pursuit of improving athletes. There are many research projects and ancillary industries targeted at athletes as either an individual, or part of a collection, or a team. This award will give the student a thorough understanding of the aspects that influence the athlete's welfare, performance needs and health.

There is a range of jobs within the sports industry and associated ancillary industries that would suit a graduate from this course. They include science-based roles such as working in the professional and amateur coaching environments as well as a variety of positions within the health and welfare sector.
