Overview

You will be introduced to the scientific, technological and managerial principles upon which modern horticulture is founded. The opportunity for specialist study in an area of your choice is offered through the final year dissertation, and selection of an elective module in the second and final year. 

This Horticulture course at Warwickshire College is validated in partnership with the University of Worcester.

Career progression

Graduates may take up careers in garden management, garden design, garden centres/retail, amenity horticulture, commercial crop management, commercial sales, research and development and plant breeding. Students have also taken up internships at botanical gardens, and several students have gone on to Master's degrees and PhDs.

  • Normally, applicants will be expected to have 4 GCSEs (grade C or above) including English and Maths and at least 88* UCAS points, from qualifications such as:Two six-unit A levels at grade A to D (one at grade C); or BTEC National Diploma / BTEC or C&G Diploma or Extended Diploma; orAccess to Higher Education. 
  • The College welcomes applications from individuals with relevant work experience who do not have full formal academic qualifications. Application for Recognition of Prior Learning is welcomed and will be considered.
