The mission of the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BA.LS) degree program at Mansfield University is to offer flexibility in planning a program of study to meet individual, personal, and career interests.

Overview

The BA.LS Liberal Studies degree program at Mansfield University provides a unique opportunity for students to combine fields of study and self-construct specialty programs in areas for which the university does not grant degrees.  

Learning Outcomes

The program fosters creativity among students with established learning goals and also validates the previous learning of students who opt to pursue this option late in their academic journey.  Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary program designed to provide an individualized education, based in the tradition of the liberal arts (the humanities, the arts, languages, mathematics, and natural and social sciences). The program is committed to the development of the independent lifelong learner.

A wide variety of careers are available to students who complete a Liberal Studies degree. Many of our graduates have found successful careers in the following areas:

  • A certified copy of your secondary school transcript, accompanied by a certified English translation if the original is not in English. Certified copies must be prepared by a school or education ministry official, bear the original seal and signature of the preparer, and be mailed directly to the Admissions Office. Please do not send your only original.
